Guy Ritchie, who helped Warner Bros. make a bunch of money with his version of Sherlock Holmes, has been keen on making a King Arthur movie for a while. WB has also been anxious to get a King Arthur project off the ground, so it seemed only a matter of time before the two would work together on the project. Last night WB announced they’ve set the film for July 22, 2016.
There’s no mention on whether or not it’ll be the first in a six-film deal (like was reported on a few months ago), but at the very least we’ll be seeing a new King Arthur movie on the big screen in 2016. No word yet on any casting or potential story for this movie, which makes sense considering that Ritchie is knee deep in post-production on his Man from U.N.C.L.E. reboot.
What do you hope to see out of a new King Arthur adventure?
