Three Actresses on the Short List for Han Solo Female Lead

So yeah it’s been a little since we’ve heard anything specific regarding the upcoming Han Solo spin-off in terms of casting (the last official news we heard was about Bradford Young being the cinematographer). I mean yes we’ve covered the rumors, twitter teasing, and casting news of Alden Ehrenreich but we’re all dying for more.

This week brings a little bit of news as casting for the female lead is rumored to be down to three actresses. Variety reports that Naomi Scott from the upcoming Power Rangers movie, Zoe Kravitz from Divergent and Mad Max, and Tessa Thompson from Creed and Thor: Ragnarok are all in the running.

Now neither one of these ladies is a lightweight talent and I would hate to be on the deciding panel. Now we have a lot of time since the release date for the film is set for May 25, 2018 and is supposed to focus on the origin of Han and Chewie as a team. We still don’t even have confirmation that Donald Glover would be playing Lando Calrissian so any speculation at this point would be pointless considering how much can change in the amount of time till filming starts. But keep it here cause we’re on it at Cinelinx.
