The first two trailers for X-Men: Apocalypse set the tone, introduced us to the new villain and how dangerous he really is, while showing off some pretty cool action shots. Today’s final trailer, cranks all of that up to 11 in the best ways possible.
Long time X-Men fans should have plenty to be happy about in this trailer. Not only do we get to see Quicksilver acknowledge his parentage (something they skirted around in the previous film), but there’s a tiny hint about Nightcrawler knowing about Mystique as well (she’s supposed to be his mother). Granted, I still think the ages look off and they’re all a little to close to being peers rather than parents to the “younger” generation, it’s still pretty neat.
Then we have a hint of Wolverine at the very end, with tons of action and intensity to go around. All in all, I think it’s a solid trailer. I know many weren’t as impressed with the previous trailers for Apocalypse, but I think this final one will win some fans over. What do you guys think?
Since the dawn of civilization, he was worshipped as a god. Apocalypse, the first and most powerful mutant from Marvel’s X-Men universe, amassed the powers of many other mutants, becoming immortal and invincible. Upon awakening after thousands of years, he is disillusioned with the world as he finds it and recruits a team of powerful mutants, including a disheartened Magneto (Michael Fassbender), to cleanse mankind and create a new world order, over which he will reign. As the fate of the Earth hangs in the balance, Raven (Jennifer Lawrence) with the help of Professor X (James McAvoy) must lead a team of young X-Men to stop their greatest nemesis and save mankind from complete destruction.
X-Men: Apocalypse hits theaters on May 27, 2016.
