If you’re hankering for more mutant action, today’s new trailer for X-Men: Apocalypse will certainly hit the right spot for you. It gives us our best look yet at the new story and characters we’ll be seeing, while also taking the action to an all new level:
I think this trailer is pretty great. The new X-Men films, starting with First Class, have been among my favorites in the comic book genre, giving us characters we actually care about, with some fun storylines to boot. Apocalypse is supposed to mark the end of this particular trilogy, though that doesn’t mean the franchise is done. As such, it looks like they’re going all out with it.
It’s all out war in this trailer, but it still manages to hit some character notes that pull me more into the story. While there will be TONS of action judging by this, I’m glad to see the character threads will still have an impact as well (or at least I hope so). What do you guys think about today’s trailer?
Following the critically acclaimed global smash hit X-Men: Days of Future Past, director Bryan Singer returns with X-MEN: APOCALYPSE. Since the dawn of civilization, he was worshipped as a god. Apocalypse, the first and most powerful mutant from Marvel’s X-Men universe, amassed the powers of many other mutants, becoming immortal and invincible. Upon awakening after thousands of years, he is disillusioned with the world as he finds it and recruits a team of powerful mutants, including a disheartened Magneto (Michael Fassbender), to cleanse mankind and create a new world order, over which he will reign. As the fate of the Earth hangs in the balance, Raven (Jennifer Lawrence) with the help of Professor X (James McAvoy) must lead a team of young X-Men to stop their greatest nemesis and save mankind from complete destruction.
X-Men: Apocalypse hits theaters on May 27, 2016.
