Fox and Deadpool are teaming up with various entertainment news sources and other sites including Deviant Art and IMAX to give us “The 12 Days of Deadpool”. Over the next 12 days, these sources will be giving us different promotional materials leading up to a brand new trailer to debut on Dec. 25th.
The whole campaign is quite brilliant. It’s no coincidence that they’ve just now decided to release the 12 Days of Deadpool. Yeah, sure Christmas is around the corner so technically they had to start it now. However, it’s more than that. This week marks the most important week in Nerd History, Star Wars Week. You may ask, “What does that have to do with the Deadpool campaign?” I would answer, “Everything.” While all of us are getting psyched for Star Wars to come out, Fox is using this excitement to generate hype for the Deadpool movie that’s coming out in February. Plus, people love a mystery and get excited when they have something to look forward to. Starting today, you have 12 reveals to look forward to. So…without further ado!
On the 1st day of Deadpool, Deadpool gave to us…1 awesome poster!
How can you not love this poster? It just screams Deadpool! This is a poster you hang proudly on your wall…in the man cave…that your children never see. Still, it’s the perfect poster for a character like Deadpool and I love that Fox is not shying away from it.
The rest of the days of Deadpool break down as such:
Day 1-Entertainment Weekly – Movie Poster
Day 2-People Magazine
Day 3-Deviant Art
Day 5-Fandango (Tickets?)
Day 7-Deadpool Core
Day 9-IMAX (More Tickets?)
Day 10-Ryan Reynolds
Day 11-Trailer Eve (Teaser probably)
Day 12-Trailer Day!
Each day, we will cover each day of the 12 Days of Deadpool leading up to what should be an awesome 2nd trailer!
Deadpool releases February 12, 2016 and stars Ryan Reynolds, Morena Baccarin, and T.J. Miller.
