This morning brings horror fans their first look at the third Conjuring movie, The Devil Made Me Do It, showing Ed and Lorraine Warren investigating a murder.
Everyone knows I’m not big on horror movies. I’m a weenie. That said, there’s something about The Conjuring films that I’ve always enjoyed. Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga’s performances as Ed and Lorraine Warren are fun to watch, and the blending of real life cases with over the top paranormal shenanigans works better than it should.
As such, I’ve found myself looking forward to The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It, despite my aforementioned wiener-tendencies. With this first trailer, my interest is definitely in full gear:
I’m really digging the murder mystery element being taken here. It helps push it beyond a normal haunting/possession movie, and gives that kind of a story a fun spin.
“The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It” reveals a chilling story of terror, murder and unknown evil that shocked even experienced real-life paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren. One of the most sensational cases from their files, it starts with a fight for the soul of a young boy, then takes them beyond anything they’d ever seen before, to mark the first time in U.S. history that a murder suspect would claim demonic possession as a defense.
The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It hits theaters and HBO Max on June 4, 2021.
