After the success of Sonic the Hedgehog at the box office, it’s been confirmed that a sequel featuring the speedy blue hedgehog is in the works.
Paramount Pictures confirmed just the other day that a sequel to the live-action family comedy is in the works. Jeff Fowler is returning to direct the sequel, while Pat Casey and Josh Miller are writing the script. Neal H. Moritz, Toby Ascher and Toru Nakahara are producing the pic, while Hajime Satomi, Haruki Satomi and Tim Miller are executive producing.
Since the sequel is in the development stage, no details about casting or a production start date are available at this time. That there is a sequel in the works isn’t a surprise, since the post-credits scene of Sonic the Hedgehog made it more than clear that there was way more story to be told.
It will be exciting to see how Sonic the Hedgehog 2 develops and hopefully there will be more details soon.
