Proud to collaborate with one of my favorite filmmakers on the next Jurassic adventure. JA Bayona, it’s all yours.

J.A. Bayona is a relatively unknown director. He’s helmed such films as The Orphanage and the yet to be released A Monster Calls. So, Jurassic World 2 will be his biggest film yet.
However, he won’t be at it alone. The sequel to the fourth biggest movie of all time ($650 mil domestic) is a huge project for a director like Bayona. Fortunately, he’ll be working close with Colin Trevorrow, who directed the first Jurassic World.
Since Trevorrow won’t be working on Episode IX for some time, he has taken up the task of writing Jurassic World 2 alongside Derek Connolly. Together, they hope to make Bayona’s life a little easier when production begins.
As of now, we don’t know what Jurassic World 2 will be about but there are rumblings about the continuation of militarized dinos. All we do know is that Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard are planning to return for the sequel. There’s no word on if they’ll come back for the third in the, rumored, trilogy. We have time for that breaking news, though.
Jurassic World 2 is set to hit theaters June 22, 2018!
What do you think of the director selection?
