Javier Bardem discusses his non-existant ‘Bond role’

The LA Times caught an interview with Javier Bardem about his Bond role (or lack of Bond role, depending on what you believe). Says the actor, “I”m a huge fan of the James Bond saga. When I was little, I went watching Mr. Connery doing James Bond with my father. Who in the world would think I’d be in one of those movies?” Well no one, Mr. Bardem…because you’re not in one yet.

That's a picture

Bardem continues on, claiming “They’re changing the whole thing, the whole dynamic. I’d be playing Bond’s nemesis, yes, but it’s not that obvious. Everything is more nuanced. It’s very intriguing.” Believe me, I’d be much more excited if Bardem was already confirmed for the role. I think he’d make a perfect Bond villain, and a great nemesis to the Daniel Craig version especially. He’s a brilliant actor, but I’ve been burned by Hollywood to many a time; I’m not going to get my hopes up to soon.
