It has come to light via reports that are startling, if not completely surprising, that Kevin Feige, head of Marvel Studios, is working on a new Star Wars film alongside Kathleen Kennedy.
In a report originally broken by The Hollywood Reporter, word has come out that Feige, a known Star Wars fan, is working with Kennedy on creating a new Star Wars film, one that would be part of a fresh “wave” of Star Wars films now that The Rise of Skywalker (and the end of the Skywalker Saga) is arriving in a few months.
Alan Horn, co-chairman and chief creative officer of Walt Disney Studios had this to say about Kathleen Kennedy and Kevin Feige working together:
“We are excited about the projects Kathy and the Lucasfilm team are working on, not only in terms of Star Wars but also Indiana Jones and reaching into other parts of the company including Children of Blood and Bone with Emma Watts and Fox. With the close of the Skywalker Saga, Kathy is pursuing a new era in Star Wars storytelling, and knowing what a die-hard fan Kevin is, it made sense for these two extraordinary producers to work on a Star Wars film together.”
It will be very interesting to see what type of Star Wars film Kevin Feige ends up creating.
