As a lover of all things Kaiju/monster movies, Kong: Skull Island is one of the films I’ve been looking forward to hearing more about at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con. With a teaser set to land tomorrow during WB’s panel (which should be releaed online as they’ve been teasing it to more than just attendees), today brings about our first poster for the film:
It’s great. There’s a simplicity to it that I love and how it’s composed gives a sense of tension and doom, especially with the menacing King Kong himself looming large in the mists. It’s not a clear look at the ape, but enough to give us an idea of his size this time around. All in all, it’s a poster I’d love to see hanging on my wall, and something that definitely sparks interest.
Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures’ “Kong: Skull Island” reimagines the origin of the mythic Kong in a compelling, original adventure from director Jordan Vogt-Roberts. In the film, a diverse team of explorers is brought together to venture deep into an uncharted island in the Pacific—as beautiful as it is treacherous—unaware that they’re crossing into the domain of the mythic Kong.
Be sure to keep it tuned to us all this weekend as bring you all the big news (including updates on Kong) live from SDCC 2016. Kong: Skull Island hits theaters on March 10, 2017.
