First revealed by Entertainment Weekly, actor Bill Skarsgard‘s depiction of the evil-incarnate shapeshifter, that feeds off children both emotionally and physically, known as Pennywise the Clown is much more reeled in and sinister than the 1990 version Tim Curry made so famous.
Skarsgard explains the reason behind the updated make-up, “It’s important that we do something fresh and original for this one. It’s purposely not going toward that weird, greasy look,”.
Well they definitely found a way to create the scariest clown I’ve ever seen and, like Stephen King, I think all clowns are creepy/scary.
For fans of the novels, the 2017 It remake will be in two parts. The first will follow the kids and their attempt to vanquish the creature. However, this time it will be in the late 80’s, not 50’s. The second part will take place several years later, as the same kids-turned adults return to fight Pennywise again. Part 2 is only going to happen if Part 1 is successful.
