Live Action Adaptation of Your Name Lands a Director at Paramount

The stunning anime film, Your Name, is getting a live-action adaptation from Paramount and Bad Robot and has landed a writer/director.

Considering Your Name remains one of Japan’s highest grossing films, there was little doubt it’d be picked up for a live-action version. Paramount, in conjunction with Bad Robot and Toho, are working to make it a reality and, as Deadline reports, have hired Lee Isaac Chung to direct the film. He will also re-write the film (previously handled by Eric Heisserer).

Anime adaptations can be hit or miss, but with the film’s original producer, Genki Kawamura, on board as well, there’s reason to hope this new take on Your Name can be just as amazing.

No word on any sort of release date/window, but it’s nice to see this moving forward. What do you think about a live-action Your Name?
