Earlier today, Hugh Jackman took to social media to unveil the latest poster (pictured) for the latest (and likely last) Wolverine movie, Logan. The new movie poster foreshadows Logan’s end as he walks along a empty dirt area, blanketed by sunset. It serves as a reminder that this will be Jackman’s last movie as the rabid mutant.
In addition to the poster, TheWrap revealed that former X-Men Origins: Wolverine co-star, Ryan Reynolds, will reprise his role as the Merc with a Mouth in a cameo scene, shot by Deadpool 2 Director David Leitch. TheWrap’s sources clarified stating that the scene would likely be placed after-credits.
As the world rejoiced with this news, Logan Director Mangold took to twitter to refute the report.

Initial speculation would be that Mangold is merely trying to keep the scene from becoming public, as to avoid spoilers. However, upon second thought, that’s not really Mangold’s style. It doesn’t hurt either when the man behind the mask denies it too.
Sadly, not true. Prisoner 24601 is on a solo mission. https://t.co/5czBmMRfY1

There you have it! Proof that Deadpool won’t be in Logan. While it would’ve been cool to have both these characters in the same film, Deadpool just doesn’t have a place in this one. Any inclusion of Deadpool would serve to take away from the intense drama that the Old Man Logan story tries to convey. Perhaps Deadpool 2 will have some Easter Egg for it, but that will be about it.
Logan stars Hugh Jackman as Wolverine/Logan, Patrick Stewart as Professor Charles Xavier, Boyd Holbrook as Donald Pierce, Stephen Merchant as Caliban, and Dafne Keen as Laura Kinney (a.k.a. X-23).
Logan debuts in theaters March 3, 2017!
