Lucy in the Sky: Natalie Portman Goes to Space in Surreal First Trailer

Originally titled Pale Blue Dot, Lucy in the Sky stars Natalie Portman as Lucy Cola, an astronaut who begins to lose her grip on reality after going to space. The trailer begins like a typical space story, but it quickly sidesteps into the surreal in a series of stunning images.

If the trailer is anything to go by, Natalie Portman is going to knock this film out of the park. The actress has been on a roll with science-fiction films as of late (having appeared in Annihilation last year) so it will be exciting to see what she brings to the story. Portman is joined by Jon Hamm, Zazie Beetz, Dan Stevens, and Ellen Burstyn. The film’s story is very loosely based on the real-life story of astronaut Lisa Nowak.

In LUCY IN THE SKY, Natalie Portman plays astronaut Lucy Cola, who returns to Earth after a transcendent experience during a mission to space – and begins to lose touch with reality in a world that now seems too small. Directed by Noah Hawley, to be released in 2019.
