Ludi Lin in Talks to Join ‘Mortal Kombat’ as Liu Kang (Updated)

The cast of the Mortal Kombat movie appears to be growing as reports are surfacing that Power Rangers star Ludi Lin is in talks to join the movie as Liu Kang, while the roles of Jax, Raiden, and Mileena appear to be filled.

In news originally broken by Variety, it’s come out that Ludi Lin, who recently played the Black Ranger in the 2017 Power Rangers movie, is in talks to play Liu Kang in the Mortal Kombat movie. Liu Kang was the protagonist of the original Mortal Kombat video game released in 1992. In an update, THR is also now reporting that in addition to Ludi Lin being in talks for Liu Kang, Mehcad Brooks, Tadanobu Asano, and Sisi Stringer have been cast in the film as Jax, Raiden, and Mileena respectively.

If Ludi Lin does indeed accept the role, he would join the cast alongside Joe Taslim, who has already been cast as Sub-Zero. Stay tuned to Cinelinx for more details!

Mortal Kombat is currently scheduled to arrive in theaters on March 5, 2021.
