M. Night Shyamalan is Back With The Visit

Real talk, I love Shyamalan.  Seriously, his films were legitimately inspirations for me to pursue a film degree in college.  Sadly, the man has been in decline for a number of years, and even I can recognize that.  However, that hasn’t stopped me from being interested any time I hear more about a new film of his.  Next up for him is a return to horror, and using the found footage style of filmmaking.  During CinemaCon, Universal showed off the first trailer for the film and now you can see it too!

I’m not sure what to think.  It has some creepy elements, but nothing about it feels different from anything else we’ve seen before.  It feels like any other horror movie trailer at this point, and it kind of bums me out.  Who knows, maybe it’ll be awesome and take Shyamalan out of his rut.  What do you guys think?

Shyamalan returns to his roots with the terrifying story of a brother and sister who are sent to their grandparents’ remote Pennsylvania farm for a weeklong trip. Once the children discover that the elderly couple is involved in something deeply disturbing, they see their chances of getting back home are growing smaller every day.

The Visit releases on September 11, 2015.
