Marvel’s Doctor Strange Starts Production for 2016 Film

You can officially change the status for Marvel’s Doctor Strange film to “In Production”!  Today, Disney/Marvel announced that the production of the Sorcerer Supreme’s origin story has officially begun and we can’t be more excited!

Doctor Strange, part of the MCU Phase 3, stars Benedict Cumberbatch as Doctor Strange, Chiwetel Ejiofor as Baron Mordo, Michael Stuhlberg as Nicodemus West, Tilda Swinton as The Ancient One and Rachel McAdams and Mads Mikkelson with roles yet to be officially revealed.  Directed by Scott Derrickson, mostly known for his work on Sinister, The Exorcism of Emily Rose, and Deliver Us From Evil.

While we have known about this cast for quite some time, the casting of Mads Mikkelson seems to have slipped through the cracks.  If you’re unfamiliar with him, watch him in either Casino Royale or NBC’s, now cancelled show, Hannibal.  You’ll soon get to know Mikkelson’s work, upon viewing.  I like this pick and I’m intrigued with which character he’ll be portraying.  There are a wide variety of characters in the world of Doctor Strange to choose from.

“Doctor Strange” follows the story of neurosurgeon Doctor Stephen Strange who, after a horrific car accident, discovers the hidden world of magic and alternate dimensions.

Doctor Strange opens in theaters November 4, 2016!
