Mission: Impossible 6 Set For Summer 2018 Release

Paramount Pictures and Skydance Productions have finally reached a deal with Mission: Impossible series frontman, Tom Cruise, and are now ready to get started on Mission: Impossible 6.  The studio has even gone so far as announcing that the 6th film will be released July 27, 2018!

M:I6 was already in the process of preproduction when everything was halted by Cruise and his representatives asking for more money, equal to what he’s making on Universal‘s The Mummy movie.  Today’s news proves that the studio and Cruise were able to come to terms and M:I6 is underway.

Rogue Nation Director, Christopher McQuarrie, has written the script and will direct Mission: Impossible 6.

Who would’ve guessed that over 20 years after the first Mission: Impossible movie, we’d be on our 6th film?  That’s a testiment to the popularity of this film series.  Even if, they’ve departed from what made the first one so groundbreaking.  At this rate, it’s a wonder how much longer they’ll continue with the M:I series.

That wasn’t the only news Paramount unveiled, during Election Night.  The studio also announced Alexander Payne‘s Downsizing releasing on Dec. 22, 2017.  The sci-fi comedy-drama will star Matt Damon, Kristen Wiig, Cristolph Waltz, Alec Baldwin, Neil Patrick Harris, and Jason Sudeikis.
