With theaters closing up again and the pandemic reaching new heights, Warner Bros has delayed the new Mortal Kombat movie indefinitely…
This one really shouldn’t come as a surprise. Considering the film was slated to arrive in less than three months and has yet to receive a trailer (or even an official image), it was only a matter of time until it was officially pulled from the schedule.
Todd Garner, the film’s producer, revealed the delay while answering a fan question:
Well, I thought by the casts’ social media you would’ve figured out we’re shooting a few more days. We’d always planned for it & thought we’d do it in March. The pandemic had other plans. We won’t have a release date for the movie until theaters re-open. Same for trailer.

It makes sense, but a bummer nonetheless. I would absolutely LOVE to see a trailer for this film but with the studio not knowing WHEN they’ll even release the film, that makes it tough to prepare marketing.
With 2021 already STACKED with big movie releases, the real question is when the Hell Warner Bros. can squeeze it in. Perhaps it’ll take Fantastic Beasts 3‘s November slot they recently vacated….
