If you’ve got a hankering for some new robot-based science fiction, you’ll definitely want to check out this trailer for I Am Mother, which hits Netflix next month.

I don’t know how I Am Mother escaped my notice until now, but after the new trailer Netflix dropped today, my interest is at an all time high. While robot/human dystopian movies aren’t anything new in Sci-Fi films, I’m loving the angle they’re taking with this one:

There’s a lot going on here, all of which has me excited to see if the final film can pull it off. Definitely putting this in my queue on June 7th.

I AM MOTHER is a sci-fi thriller about a teenage girl (Clara Rugaard), who is the first of a new generation of humans to be raised by Mother (Rose Byrne), a robot designed to repopulate the earth after the extinction of humankind. But the pair’s unique relationship is threatened when an injured stranger (Hilary Swank) arrives with news that calls into question everything Daughter has been told about the outside world and her Mother’s intentions.
