Adam Driver is the frontrunner to play Batman’s crime-fighting partner Dick Grayson

Is Batman close to finding his Robin? According to TheWrap, 29 year old Adam Driver–who received an Emmy nomination for his role as Adam Sackler in the TV series Girls–is the number one candidate at the moment to get the role of Batman’s crime-fighting sidekick Dick Grayson. Driver has also appeared in Clint Eastwood’s J. Edgar and Steven Spielberg’s Lincoln.

Driver apparently has the unique look that fits the script’s description of Grayson, which is a “young John Hawkes,” as first reported by the Latino Review. Standing 6-foot -3, Driver would not seem too small next to Ben Affleck, who is also 6-foot-3, and who will play an older and world-weary version of the Dark Knight. In the film, Dick Grayson is Batman’s former sidekick, having graduated from Robin to Nightwing, and has been estranged from Bruce Wayne for years in the film.

Aside from Affleck, the tentatively titled Batman vs. Superman co-stars Henry Cavill, reprising his role as Superman, Amy Adams as Lois Lane and Laurence Fishburne as Perry White. Batman vs. Superman will be released on July 17, 2015.
