Well this is an interesting rumor. The guys over on Latino-Review have another Marvel scoop on their hands, this time pertaining to the second season of Daredevil on Netflix. From the sounds of it, the next season will open up to more comic book characters including Electra (based on leaked audition tapes), and a few others as well. The biggest, of course, would be the iconic villain Bullseye, who’s frequently given the man without fear troubles. According to the report, Marvel is talking with Jason Statham (resident badass) about taking on the part:
Our spies spotted him meeting with Marvel personnel earlier this week while taking a break from the press tour for Spy. Aside from Bullseye, other villainous characters who are said to appear in Daredevil’s highly-anticipated second season include Mr Fear, Mysterio (one of Spider-Man’s iconic rogues), and Elektra – Daredevil’s eventual love interest.
Also quick note that Marvel’s Daredevil seaon 2 is set to start shooting at the end of June early July not in the Fall.
Frankly, I love this idea. Statham can play an excellent bad guy and has the chops necessary to bring some amazing action to the series. I’m crossing my fingers that this turns out to be true. Along with that juicy tidbit, LR also makes mention that Mysterio is expected to show up too. This is most interesting because Mysterio is primarily a Spider-Man villain, so perhaps they’ll use him as a set-up for some Spider-Man Easter eggs to tie into the films? Who knows, but it’s certainly an intriguing idea.
What do you guys think? Do you hope to see Statham suit up as Bullseye for Daredevil season two?
