While Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is set to really kick off a more interconnected universe for DC’s characters, the more we hear about Suicide Squad, the more it seems that film will be a big connector between all the other flicks. Suicide Squad is gearing up to shoot very soon, and as such, little details about the film and cast are starting to hit. The scoopers over on Latino Review are at it again, and have revealed the Scott Eastwood has been hired on to portray the character Steve Trevor in the upcoming film, before a more significant role in 2017’s Wonder Woman.
The character of Steve Trevor is best known for being the primary love interest for Wonder Woman (and frequently gets his butt saved by her), and in the New 52 series of comics, is the primary point of contact between the government and the Justice League. From the sounds of it, WB and DC are keen on using the New 52 for a lot of influence so, having Trevor show up in Suicide Squad could be a huge cameo that gives audiences another look at how the world is dealing with all these superheroes, and what the government is doing about it.
More than anything, it’s another great connector to the overall DC Universe of films, and I’m excited to see how it all comes together. Suicide Squad is scheduled to hit on August 5, 2016. What do you think about this latest rumor?
