As 2015 winds down its last few months, it’s about time for the bi 2016 movies to start their promotions. While we’ve already seen a pair of trailers for Zack Snyder’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, fans are eager for more. Thankfully, we may not have to wait long. Heroic Hollywood is reporting that Warner Bros. is planning to use the season premieres of Supergirl and Gotham to debut new minute-long teasers for the film.
The one attached to Supergirl would be entirely Superman focused, while the teaser attached to Gotham would focus on Batman. It makes alot of sense, actually as the premieres are expected to pull in big numbers, and they BOTH debuted on October 26th. While they’re on different channels, the debuts are also on different times, so fans would be able to watch both and be fine.
These two teasers would then lead into a larger, full length trailer later on in November, possibly attached to Spectre or the final Hunger Games movie. The site cautions that this should be taken with a grain of salt, and he hasn’t been able to confirm the information as solidly as he’d like. Considering he was the one who broke the news about the FIRST Batman v Superman trailer (the IMAX event one), he’s got some credibility in this area.
Personally speaking, the timeframe seems about right for a new trailer in later October, and using the shows to promote them is a no brainer. It’ll boost ratings, while also getting the trailer directly in front of their target audiences. I guess we’ll have to wait and see, but what do you guys make of this rumor?
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice will hit theaters on March 25, 2016.
