Started out as—Kato, the Kung-Fu fighting sidekick to the Green Hornet in the TV series The Green Hornet (1966).

After that—Lee had a recurring role in the detective series Longstreet before returning to Hong Kong to star in a highly successful trio of films; The Big Boss (1971); the Chinese Connection (1972) and the Way of the Dragon (1972). His first and only Hollywood film was Enter the Dragon (1973). Lee died young and his legend has grown ever since. He is considered by many as the greatest martial arts star in the history of film.


Started out as—The telekinetic Gloria on the TV series Misfits of Science (1985-88).

After That—Cox appeared in the successful Scream film franchise, as well as starring in several TV series, most notably the hit show Friends. Her latest series is Cougar Town.


Started out as—Wonder Woman’s little sis Drusilla–AKA Wonder Girl–in the 1970s TV series Wonder Woman.

After That—Winger made her big screen breakthrough co-starring with Richard Gere in An Officer & a Gentleman (1982). In 1983, she was nominated for Best Supporting Actress in the Oscar winning Best Picture Terms of Endearment. She also starred in Mike’s Murder (1984) Black Widow (1987) and Sheltering Sky (1990).


Started out as—Super heroine Electra-Woman in the Sid & Marty Kroft kid’s series Electra Woman & Dyna-Girl (1976)

After That—Deidre Hall became one of the most popular daytime soap opera stars of her era, creating the role of Dr. Marlena Evans in 1976 on Days of Our Lives; a character whose popularity developed a massive fan following. She was named Best Television Role Model; won the prestigious America Women in Radio and Television award in 1994; garnered five Best Actress awards from Soap Opera Digest, and she was also named one of America’s 10 most beautiful women by TV Guide. Aside from her soap opera success, she co-starred with Shannon Doherty and Wilfred Brimley in the TV series Our House in the mid-eighties.


Started out as—Pink Ranger Kimberly in the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers TV show from 1993-1995, as well reprising the role in Power Rangers: the Movie (1995).

After that—Johnson, who is a trained gymnast, musician and actress, has appeared in several TV series, including the hit show Felicity, as well as the Division, Wildfire, Flashpoint and Covert Affairs.


Started out as—The powerful demi-God son of Zeus Hercules, in the made-for-TV movie Hercules in New York (1969) where he appeared under the name ‘Arnold Strong’. (You could argue about whether Hercules counts as a super hero or not, but I’m including him anyway.)

After That—Do I need to explain? Everyone knows that Arnold went on to become one of the biggest action stars of the 80s and 90s, with films like the Terminator series, the Conan films, Eraser, Predator, Running Man, True Lies and Total Recall.
