Maybe you plan to spend the day trick-or-treating, or maybe you’re going to sit in the most sincere pumpkin patch and wait for the Great Pumpkin to bring you lots of goodies.Or maybe you’re going to watch horror films. If you are, let the critics recommend some for you.

The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari is a good choice for number one, since it’s the film that began the horror genre. It wasn’t technically the first horror film ever made but it was the first hit for the genre. If you haven’t seen it, you should. It gave us the first screen zombie, long before the Walking Dead.

There are a lot of great movies on this list, and any of them makes great viewing for Halloween. So enjoy your candy and scary movies, and have a happy Halloween.
