Visit the World of Sherlock Holmes at Perot Museum Dallas, TX

As an adult, I still get excited to see Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law keep the crime solving couple alive and hard at work. With the continued success of new and classic published books, two television shows, and a blockbuster movie franchise, I’d say interest in Sherlock Holmes is at a fever pitch right now. When I heard that the Perot Museum was bringing the International Exhibition of Sherlock Holmes to the Dallas area, I knew I would have to attend the impressive display.

From the looks of the ads for the International Exhibition of Sherlock Holmes, you would think it’s simply a collection of old artifacts from the era that the great detective supposedly worked in. However, you would be wrong. Before even entering the actual exhibit, several glass cases hold props from both Elementary and Guy Ritchie’s Sherlock Holmes films. You get a glimpse into both Robert Downey Jr.’s and Jonny Lee Miller’s different universes. Miller’s full costume is on display, as well as Downey Jr.’s house shoes and pipes.

Upon entering the archway of the International Exhibition of Sherlock Holmes, you’re transported into turn-of-the-century London and given a mission to help the detective solve a murder. A booklet is given to each attendee with a list of different clues to look for as you walk down the streets of Old England and through 21B Baker Street and into the heart of the murder scene while looking for clues to solving the brutal killing. If you haven’t had a chance to get out to the Perot Museum to witness the International Exhibition of Sherlock Holmes, you’re missing out. Whether you’re a fan of Sherlock Holmes or just enjoy a fascination with turn-of-the-century London, this display of historical items and displays will have you thrilled. The exhibit is only in the Dallas, TX area through May 10th. For more information, you can go here.
