New Assassin’s Creed Movie Trailer Puts You in the Spanish Inquisition

If you’ve been eager to see more of 20th Century Fox and Ubisoft’s collaboration to bring Assassin’s Creed to the big screen, today is your chance.  If you weren’t over the moon with the first trailer, I’m not sure this one is going to sell you on it either.  At the very least, we get a good look at some more impressive looking action sequences.

I’m not entirely sure what to think here…I wasn’t impressed with the first trailer, and felt it’s elements were all over the place.  I chalked up a lot of that due to the fact that I’ve never been a big Assassin’s Creed fan.  I’ve played every single game, but could never make it more than 10 hours or so before I grew bored and moved on.  Even so, the lore and ideas behind the stories were interesting and I hoped the film would snag me.

So far, I’m not sold.  This second trailer is better than the first, but I still don’t feel like I know what this particular story is about.  They’re selling the story on the past/future dynamic which is something fans of the franchise are already well acquainted with.  I’d like to know something about this particular story.  Oh well.  At least the action is looking awesome, and the Assassin’s feel suitably badass.

Through a revolutionary technology that unlocks his genetic memories, Callum Lynch (Michael Fassbender) experiences the adventures of his ancestor, Aguilar, in 15th Century Spain. Callum discovers he is descended from a mysterious secret society, the Assassins, and amasses incredible knowledge and skills to take on the oppressive and powerful Templar organization in the present day.
