The second trailer for the upcoming Child’s Play reboot has arrived, giving us our best look yet at the murderous doll wreaking all manner of havoc. A couple days ago, we got a new image showing off the full redesign of Chucky, but this morning brings a brand new, full length, trailer for Child’s Play. There’s a whole lot of murder and mayhem going on here:
I wasn’t incredibly thrilled with the film’s first trailer, but this one is pretty good and promises more blood and than ever before. It’s still a little frustrating that aside from some basic elements, there’s no real indication on the full story this time around.
Yes, we know the doll comes alive and begins murdering people, but is it because he’s being hacked by someone else (they make a big deal of the smart technology in this trailer) or are they going with the voodoo/possession angle from before? There’s plenty of unknowns still, but this morning’s trailer definitely steps up the chills and thrills. What do you guys think?
A contemporary re-imagining of the 1988 horror classic, CHILD’S PLAY follows Karen (Aubrey Plaza), a single mother who gifts her son Andy (Gabriel Bateman) a Buddi doll, unaware of its more sinister nature.
Child’s Play hits theaters on June 21, 2019.
