New Punk British Comedy “How to Talk to Girls at Parties” Trailer Drops

The awkward silences, the struggle for conversation topics, the strange sexy aliens in latex suits growing extra fingers, the struggles of talking to girls at Parties.  HTGPPoster DownSized

“How to Talk to Girls at Parties” directed by John Cameron Mitchell and Staring Elle Fanning, Alex Sharp, Nicole Kidman, Ruth Wilson and Matt Lucas, from what I can tell from the trailer at least, looks to be a trippy romp through the 1970’s British Punk Rock world.

As many stories begins the trailer starts out with some Teenager boys sneaking out to go to after hours punk rock parties.  They find one and all of the teenagers there are sexy and out of this world.  Literally they are from another planet for reasons unknown.  Naturally One of the boys falls in love with Zan (Eli Fanning) and Zan wants to know about this “punk.” They go off on a fever dream adventure through the Punk world of 1970’s London.  This sets off events that lead to a show down between the aliens and the punks.

Featuring some interesting bits of cinematography, I found the trailer to be interesting and quite funny.  Granted there are some clichés that I found kind on the edge of being overdone (mainly the Beautiful women being an alien knowing nothing of the human world) but that doesn’t mean it’s not good or I am not tired of that trope yet.

Final thoughts, it has some creative and trippy cinematography as far as I can tell, the story seems like a strange version of Romeo and Juliet, and I wanna watch it.

It will be in theaters this summer.
