New Rogue One International Trailer Brings New Footage and Story Elements

If you needed more amazing science fiction in your life after today’s Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets trailer, then you’re in luck.  A new international trailer (in English, but with subtitles) for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story has arrived.  Not only do we get a plethora of new footage, we get some intriguing plot details, and a good amount of chills to go with it:

Honestly, I may like this trailer even more than the “final” one we received last month.  All of the trailers for Rogue One have been impressive, but this one sent me over the top with it’s content and wealth of money shots.  Seeing Jyn Erso’s mother (finally) giving her a crystal (most likely a kyber crystal which is used to craft Lightsabers) and telling Jyn to trust in the Force gave me shivers.  Seeing the Death Star fire a onto a planet made me squeal…In all, it’s everything I wanted and more.

From Lucasfilm comes the first of the Star Wars standalone films, “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story,” an all-new epic adventure. In a time of conflict, a group of unlikely heroes band together on a mission to steal the plans to the Death Star, the Empire’s ultimate weapon of destruction. This key event in the Star Wars timeline brings together ordinary people who choose to do extraordinary things, and in doing so, become part of something greater than themselves.

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story hits theaters on December 16, 2016.
