A few weeks ago, we previewed DC‘s flagship TV station, the CW, broadcasting an hour’s worth of preview shows, revealing footage, logos, and even a Suicide Squad trailer, for DC’s next ventures. You can read that here.
Among the many movies DC announced that they’d be previewing, none was more anticipated than the footage for Wonder Woman. In advance of tonight, DC decided to ascend the hype to another level by releasing the new logo for the film coming out Summer 2017!
As you can see, there isn’t a whole that has changed to the iconic Wonder Woman insignia. In fact, all that they’ve done is add darker tones to it. Such is the theme with the DCU. I like it, though. It’s a more modern/darker approach and there’s nothing wrong with that.
All of the Wonder Woman footage, among everything else, is part of the DC Films Presents: Dawn of the Justice League 30-minute feature. As part of the feature, DC has also released a new image which shows the entire DCU Justice League together, for the first time.
Clearly, this isn’t the official poster with the actual actors in costume. However, it is concept art which does, at least, give us a glimpse of what we can look forward to in the future. We’ve seen Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck, Gal Gadot, and even Jason Momoa before.
What we hadn’t seen, yet, were Cyborg (Ray Fischer) and Flash (Ezra Miller).
The biggest change we can see to Flash is how big the Lightning Bolt insignia looks. It appears that they’ve moved on from the small circle around the bolt in favor of a much bolder look. Outside of that one note, it doesn’t look like they’ve changed much else. Although, it does look like they’ve added more yellow to the costume.
As for Cyborg, we can see him a little clearer, emphasis on little. Although, what we can see does look pretty cool. This isn’t you Teen Titans Cyborg. In fact, this version looks much more enhanced. I do like the placement of the cybernetics around his eye, too. In other variations of Cyborg, he’s looked rounded/smooth. This one looks edgy/defined and I like it.
You can see more tonight during DC Films Presents: Dawn of the Justice League at 9:30p ET/PT following the Legends of Tomorrow Preview and a new episode of The Flash on the CW.
What do you think of the new posters/concept art?
