News Bits: Mirror Mirror, Brave, RED 2, Smurfs 3, Star Wars, Prometheus, and More!

Oh my gosh, it’s been quite some time since we had a good News Bits.  Things have been hectic around here, and with all of the big news that’s been coming out over the last few weeks, it’s been harder to keep up with.  Either way, we’re back this week!

* Disney/Pixar released a new little featurette for Brave, which asks the question “Are you brave enough to wear” a kilt?

* Tarsem Signh’s version of Snow White, Mirror Mirror, is going to be available on blu-ray June 26th.

* Byun-Hun Lee and Catherine Zeta-Jones have joined the returning cast for RED 2.

the 39 Clues

* The 39 Clues, a book series from Rick Riordan has been trying to get a film off the ground for a while.  Steven Spielberg was initially attached to it, then Brett Ratner.  Ratner has now left and Shawn Levy has taken over director duties on the adaptation.

* Oh Lord help us…Sony is already putting Smurfs 3 into development, even though cameras just started rolling on the second film.  Karey Kirkpatrick and Chris Poche have been hired to get the script developed.

Ewok punching Jar Jar

* Bobby Rubio created this and it just cracks me up…

* Collider has a pretty good editorial on why Marvel needs to abandon their hit-it and quit-it tendencies with directors, when it comes to Joss Whedon and Avengers 2.

* Check out the first trailer for The Campaign…it actually looks pretty damn hilarious.

* Prometheus has officially received an R rating, which will hopefully make studios realize that this isn’t a bad thing.

Disney Game of Thrones

* Mona Collentine has taken Game of Thrones’ dragon princess and Disney-fied her.

* Check out the newest trailer for The Odd Life of Timothy Green.

This is 40 Poster

* The first poster for This is 40.
