Patrick Wilson to Play Villain in Aquaman Movie

If you’re familiar with Patrick Wilson, you’ll know that he’s no stranger to comic book movies.  In 2009, he played Nite Owl in Zack Snyder‘s depiction of Watchmen.  Wilson is also very familiar with James Wan, having worked with him on 2013’s The Conjuring.  Now, Wilson will reunite with Wan in a universe that Snyder has had a big influence over to bring a well-known villain to fight opposite Jason Mamoa‘s Aquaman!

Patrick Wilson will play as Orm Marius, otherwise known as, Ocean Master.  OM just so happens to be the half-brother to Aquaman, with a claim to the throne to Atlantis.  OM is actually full royal Atlantean, while Aquaman is merely half.  It creates a division between the two as OM believes the throne belongs to him.  With his capable abilities, he threatens to cause chaos within the ocean and the surrounding cities.

The plot sounds dangerously familiar to Thor and Loki‘s relationship throughout the MCU.  Leading up to this movie, there will be a lot of comparing between the two films with many thinking that DC stole this idea from Marvel.  However, it is a crucial part of Aquaman’s rich history.  This story needs to be told in order to show his development and how he acquires the throne.

Aquaman has Jason Mamoa as Aquaman, Amber Heard as Mera, Willem Dafoe as Vulko, and now Patrick Wilson as Ocean Master.

DC/Warner Bros. have Aquaman scheduled to release in October 2018.
