While next year brings us Toy Story 4, Pixar has pulled the curtain back a little bit on the next project, which will be an all new original film. Onward won’t hit theaters until 2020, but now we know just a little bit about it.
Set in a suburban fantasy world, Disney•Pixar’s “Onward” introduces two teenage elf brothers who embark on an extraordinary quest to discover if there is still a little magic left out there.
So, that’s not a whole lot to go on, but it’s still better than nothing. Dan Scanlon, the director of Monsters University, is helming this one and explained that the idea for this film was, “inspired by my own relationship with my brother.”
On top of those quick details, they also revealed four (impressive) actors who will be lending their talents to the project: Chris Pratt, Tom Holland, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, and Octavia Spencer. While we have no real details on their characters at the moment, it’s still an excellent line-up and I’m eager to see more from this one.
Onward hits theaters on March 6, 2020.
