Production Appears Ready to Resume on ‘Avatar 2’ in New Set Photo

New set photos reveal that production is ready to resume on Avatar 2 down in New Zealand.

Ever since the ongoing crisis began, Hollywood has largely ground to a halt, with filming and production suspended all over the world. Now, it seems that in at least some areas, production is ready to resume, particularly on the long-gestating Avatar 2, which had been in production in New Zealand.

New set photos from Jon Landau seem to reveal that production on the Avatar sequel will be resuming shortly.

“Our #Avatar sets are ready — and we couldn’t be more excited to be headed back to New Zealand next week. Check out the Matador, a high speed forward command vessel (bottom) and the Picador jetboat (top) — can’t wait to share more,”

Avatar 2 is currently scheduled to be released on December 17, 2021. Hopefully the resumption of production and filming will allow that date to remain a reality given how long this sequel has been in the works.
