Scott Derrickson’s bringing together his cast for Doctor Strange, in order to prepare for their planned start this November. We know Chiwetel Ejiofor will play Baron Mordo with Tilda Swinton taking on the role of The Ancient One, along with Benedict Cumberbatch in the titular role, and now we can add another to that list: Rachel McAdams.
The Wrap initially broke the rumor of her involvement in the Marvel project, and they got confirmation from her own mouth today while speaking with her at TIFF. So she’s in the film, but we don’t know what role she actually has other than the female lead. The speculation at this point, is she’s playing Clea, a sorceress and oftentimes love interest for Stephen Strange, but at this point we just don’t know.
With McAdams breaking the news, hopefully Marvel will open up and give us an official announcement soon. What do you guys think of this casting?
Doctor Strange will hit theaters on November 4, 2016.
