‘Spider-Man: Into the Spiderverse’ Sequel to Release in April 2022

The good news is, one of the best films of 2018 is getting a sequel! The bad news is, you’re going to have to wait a while to see it… Learn more about the release date to the Spider-Man: Into the Spiderverse sequel within…

Last year, Sony Pictures, in conjunction with Marvel Entertainment and Columbia Pictures, blew moviegoers away with their original take on the beloved Marvel Comics superhero, Spider-Man. It’s fresh take on an overdone storyline, mixed with gorgeous hand-written animation, saw Spider-Man: Into the Spiderverse earn over $190 million domestically and $375 million, globally, and an Academy Award for Best Animated Feature Film.

Now, Sony Pictures, and it’s Animation department, are ready to jump back into the Spiderverse with a sequel to the Oscar-winning picture. Today, they’ve announced that the untitled sequel will release on April 8, 2022.

While it’s a bummer we’ll have to wait about two and a half years, given how much work it takes to draw an entire movie by hand, it makes sense. The good news is, Producers Phil Lord and Christopher Miller are returning for the sequel in the same roles. Christopher Miller took to twitter to announce this development.
