Star Wars Anthology: Rogue One Set Pics Reveal Old School Troopers

Disney’s “handshake” agreement with Paramount to not discuss Star Wars: Rogue One officially (so as not to confuse people with Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation) seems to still be in effect.  While they have permission to discuss it at this week’s D23 Expo, it’s the reason we still haven’t heard much about it, despite the fact that it’s technically started filming.  We’ve mentioned that in the past, where we’ve heard filming was set to being the first week of August…and it looks like that was true!

These images come from Mirror Online, who snapped the photos from the set, which show off original styled Stormtroopers getting ready for action.  Since the film takes place before A New Hope and shows how the Rebels end up with the Death Star plans, it’s kind of a no-brainer that we’d be seeing these old-school Troopers…but it’s still really damn neat.

Hopefully this week will bring some official information during the D23 event, so make sure you keep it tuned to us for all the latest.  If you need MORE Star Wars goodness, don’t forget to check out the new Korean spot for The Force Awakens we posted earlier this morning

Star Wars Anthology: Rogue One will hit theaters on December 16, 2016.
