SDCC is always a crazy time, being nerd Mecca and all, but it’s about to get more nuts, as Lucasfilm has announced that Star Wars: The Force Awakens will be at the event with JJ Abrams and Kathleen Kenedy along for the ride. Needless to say, they’re going to be bringing some goodies from the new movie, but what is up for speculation at this point. I’ve heard many guess that a theatrical trailer will be revealed during the panel…but who knows.
Honestly, all I’ve heard is that the next trailer would be at D23 in August, but then again, their presence at SDCC is a surprise all around. So perhaps plans have changed. My guess is that they’ll show off some new characters, like the ones who are planned to be mo-cap (Supreme Leader Snoke) while saving a trailer for August’s event. I could be wrong (and hope to see a new trailer next month), but that’s my thoughts for now. The official site has more details, but here are the panels they have planned:

But you know what’s even better? The Star Wars toys. Hasbro is once again bringing some exclusive goodies to SDCC this year including that First Order Stormtrooper that leaked out at the beginning of the week. Entertainment Weekly officially revealed the exclusives that will be available (much cheaper than in year’s past) at the convention.
Hasbro’s own panel is expected to finally reveal the line-up of Force Awakens toys that will be hitting on September 4th, and collector’s like me are eagerly awaiting those. For now, we can at least enjoy this first look at toys for the new films.
