With no official synopsis on the film, Sony Pictures has released the first trailer for the sequel to Sicario entitled Soldado. While Emily Blunt is not returning, we do get Josh Brolin and Benicio Del Toro returning for the sequel. Replacing Denis Villeneuve in the directing chair is Stefano Sollima (Gomorrah). However Taylor Sheridan, who also wrote Hell or High Water in addition to the first Sicario, returns to pen the script. From the look of it, Soldado will continue to center around the escalating war against drugs along the border of the United States and Mexico. Check out the trailer below.
Sicario 2, Soldado arrives in theaters June 29, 2018. Along side Josh Brolin and Benecio Del Toro, the film also stars Catherine Keener and Matthew Modine.
