This comes from Deadline, who reports that, “Skydance Productions and Annapurna Pictures have set Laeta Kalogridis and Patrick Lussier to script the next installment of The Terminator franchise.”
Laeta’s writing credits include Shutter Island, Alexander, and Avatar (along with James Cameron), while Lussier’s credits include Wes Craven’s Dracula and My Bloody Valentine. To be honest, it sounds like a pretty decent pair of writers for a Terminator movie. Hopefully this means the production on the film will finally start moving forward, and we’ll be able to see it in a couple of years, instead of this endless waiting.
I’m in the minority of people who didn’t hate Terminator: Salvation, I daresay I even liked it. I’m a fan of the franchise and would love to see it return to the point where everyone enjoys is again. Only time will tell, but for now, I expect that we’ll be hearing more from T5 sooner rather than later.
