Thor: Ragnorok is just around the corner and we could not be more hyped! The embargo has lifted and first reviews and thoughts are coming out strong for the third film in the Thor Trilogy and the 17th installment of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. One thing that critics are all in agreement on is that Tessa Thompson is a highlight of the film. Basically she is a highlight in the game of life. Now, thanks to ThePlaylist, we know that during a press conference for Ragnorok, Thompson revealed that now that she is in the fold of the MCU, she is the voice of all of us that want to see an all-female Marvel film.
“Recently I marched up with a couple of other women who work in Marvel and asked Kevin, ‘How about a movie with some female superheroes? Like all of them,’”
Kevin Feige replied,
“It was a pretty amazing moment to be somewhere and have your shoulder be taped and turn around find every female hero we have is standing there going, ‘How about it?’ And I said ‘yes.’”
Now this is by no means a confirmation that an all-female centered film is on the way. However, it is a huge step forward toward us getting one. We have been asking and begging for a solo Black Widow movie since Scar Jo first showed up in Iron Man 2 as the character, and we are anticipating the Captain Marvel film set for release in March of 2019. But how iconic would it be to see Scarlett Johansson, Tessa Thompson, Zoe Saldana, Evangeline Lilly, Danai Gurira, and Elizabeth Olsen in a Female Avengers film!?
Tessa was all prepped and ready to defend her stance bringing the thunder, referencing Lady Liberators, which caught Feige off guard with what he considered to be a deep cut. Tessa Thompson can be seen as Valkyrie in Thor: Ragnorok along with Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, Cate Blanchett, Idris Elba, Jeff Goldblum, Karl Urban, Mark Ruffalo, and Anthony Hopkins. It is directed by Taika Waititi with a screenplay by Eric Pearson and the writing team of Craig Kyle and Christopher Yost, and hits theaters on Nov 3rd.
