If the teaser poster revealed yesterday wasn’t enough for you (and really I NEED MORE KONG!), then today brings about the first trailer for Kong: Skull Island, in which a lot of awesome things are teased, including our first look at the massive size of the King:
What I like most about this trailer, and it’s something filmmakers talked about at their panel, is that this isn’t the same King Kong story we’ve seen over and over again. This isn’t Beauty and the Beast, rather this is about man vs. nature. It’s presented more like a war film, and a struggle between this iconic force and mankind. Samuel L Jackson looks great in the role of the “villain” out to prove who’s the best, and the rest of the cast seems pretty spectacular too.
The shots we get of Kong himself are relatively small but show off his impressive size this time around. All in all, it’s a trailer that left me eager for more. I’m pretty much sold and hoping the excitement we see in the trailer, is what we get in the final product. What do you guys think?
Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures’ “Kong: Skull Island” reimagines the origin of the mythic Kong in a compelling, original adventure from director Jordan Vogt-Roberts. In the film, a diverse team of explorers is brought together to venture deep into an uncharted island in the Pacific—as beautiful as it is treacherous—unaware that they’re crossing into the domain of the mythic Kong.
Kong: Skull Island hits theaters on March 10, 2017.
