The New Trailer for ‘Ad Astra’ Promises an Interstellar Adventure

After multiple delays, the time for the premiere of Ad Astra is finally drawing near. The newest trailer gives us our best look yet at this intriguing sci-fi story.

While the first trailer only hinted at the overall story of Ad Astra, this new trailer goes into more detail, helping us to better understand the motives of Roy McBride (Pitt) and why he’s going into space.

I admit, this new trailer changed my perception of the film entirely. After watching the first trailer, I expected this to be a film with the lone astronaut on a spaceship for most of the story (more like Interstellar). But this trailer implies a story that is nothing like that, with scenes taking place on a lunar base and a colony on Mars! This film promises to give a look at what’s happening to humanity as it stretches out to the stars and I’m completely here for that kind of story.

The trailer promises interstellar intrigue, and I for one hope that the film bears out this impression.

Astronaut Roy McBride (Brad Pitt) travels to the outer edges of the solar system to find his missing father and unravel a mystery that threatens the survival of our planet. His journey will uncover secrets that challenge the nature of human existence and our place in the cosmos.

Ad Astra is due to arrive on September 20, 2019.
