The Two Doctor Strange Ending Credit Sequences Revealed

According to the Wrap, the mid-credits scene of Doctor Strange will unveil the sorcerer’s greater role in the MCU overall. Not only that, but we also get a cameo from one of the MCU’s heavy hitters—Thor! The scene teases events for Thor: Ragnarok. It appears to take place some weeks or months after the events of the movie because Strange seems to have settled into his role as the mystic protector of Earth.

The mid-credits sequence takes place in Dr. Strange’s Sanctum Sanctorum in NY. Thor (Chris Hemsworth) comes to Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) to ask for help in finding his missing father Odin, who he thinks is somewhere on Earth. However, Strange is very wary of the Asgardians, and is making a list of other-dimensional beings who could be a threat to our world—and the Asgardians are on that list. Strange is aware that Loki is also on Earth and doesn’t like the fact that Thor is working with his notorious brother again. Strange will only agree to help if Thor promises that the Asgardians will all leave Earth after they find Odin. Thor agrees and Strange conjures up a big mug of ale for Thor that perpetually refills itself.

In the post-credit sequence, Karl Mordo (Chiwetel Ejiofor) comes back, looking for a man named Pangborn, a paraplegic who earlier sought healing from the Ancient One. Mordo has defected from the Ancient One’s team, since he’s discovered his former teacher actually draws her power from the Dark Dimension (the realm of Dormammu) which the good mystics are sworn to fight. Mordo attacks Pangborn, revealing that he has found a new destiny…Eliminating the overpopulation of sorcerer’s in the world.
