A villain that fans have been wanting to appear for quite some time will finally make his debut in Sony‘s Venom, Carnage. The villain, Carnage, is a psychopathic red symbiote that is the offspring of the black symbiote that covers Eddie Brock (a.k.a. Venom). This news comes from a cavalier line in THR‘s editorial, recalling the timeline of Sony and Marvel‘s big partnership.
The line reads, “As for the expansion plans, Tom Hardy is starring in Venom, dated for Oct. 5, 2018, which will also feature the villain Carnage.”
One would think of this as “Breaking News” worthy, and yet they decided to slip into an editorial, along with news of two more villains getting a spin-off. That’s right, Venom and Silver & Black aren’t the only two villain movies in the works. In fact, Kraven the Hunter and Mysterio, two prominent members of the Sinister Six, are also being planned, according to a studio source.
As for the one character they all have in common, Spider-Man, Tom Holland is only contractually obligated to appear in the Homecoming trilogy but the thought is that he’d also be included in the spin-offs and MCU films.
The studio is also planning on having another MCU character work with Peter Parker in Homecoming 2, but they’re being mum on the details. Word is, it won’t be Tony Stark.
Spider-Man Homecoming will release July 7, 2017!
What do you think of Carnage, Kraven, and Mysterio being in upcoming movies?
