If you’re a big movie looking to debut your first trailer, it makes a lot of sense to attach it to, arguably, the biggest movie release of the year. I’m sure there are plenty of movie studios out there, who are keen to attach their trailers to play in front of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, considering the sheer mass of people who will be watching it. We already heard about Captain America: Civil War having a trailer attached, and now we have word that the next X-Men film will as well.
ColliderCollider got the scoop on this one:
We can now break the news that the first trailer for Fox’s X-Men: Apocalypse will also be attached to Star Wars: The Force Awakens, meaning Fox was able to score prime placement for director Bryan Singer’s superhero sequel.
There news comes from an incredibly reliable source, Simon Kinberg, the film’s producer (who also has strong ties to the Star Wars franchise), who said:
“I can in fact confirm that information. Our first trailer will be on Star Wars: The Force Awakens. It’s our first thing out there so it is somewhat of a teaser but it’s certainly longer than a minute and it has a ton of cool stuff in it.”
As if getting a new Star Wars movie isn’t exciting enough, fans can also get their first look at some of the biggest films of next year as well. More than likely, the trailer will be online sometime before the film’s release, and when it does, you can rest assure we’ll have it here on Cinelinx.
