Trailer #1 for Trolls World Tour is Taking Us on a World Tour!

The first trailer for Trolls World Tour, the sequel to 2016’s Trolls has arrived, and like many sequels, we’re off to explore a larger world.

In this first trailer for Trolls World Tour, we’re quickly reintroduced to Poppy, who is still happily making music (playing “The Sound of Silence” no less), when she’s suddenly interrupted by…a rock n’ roll troll??

Way back when the first Trolls was announced, I wasn’t too keen on the idea of a movie based on the iconic Troll dolls. However, seeing this trailer, I really think I could get into it. I like the idea that there are different Troll lands centered around different types of music (it’s one of those things that just makes sense). Also, the heavy rock trolls just might be one of my new favorite things. Trolls World Tour looks like it has all the makings of a perfect sequel by building and expanding on the world we’ve already been given. Can’t wait to see it in 2020!

In an adventure that will take them well beyond what they’ve known before, Poppy (Anna Kendrick) and Branch (Justin Timberlake) discover that they are but one of six different Troll tribes scattered over six different lands and devoted to six different kinds of music: Funk, Country, Techno, Classical, Pop and Rock. Their world is about to get a lot bigger and a whole lot louder. A member of hard-rock royalty, Queen Barb (Rachel Bloom), aided by her father King Thrash (Ozzy Osbourne), wants to destroy all other kinds of music to let rock reign supreme. With the fate of the world at stake, Poppy and Branch, along with their friends — Biggie (James Corden), Chenille (Caroline Hjelt), Satin (Aino Jawo), Cooper (Ron Funches) and Guy Diamond (Kunal Nayyar) — set out to visit all the other lands to unify the Trolls in harmony against Barb, who’s looking to upstage them all.

Trolls World Tour stars Anna Kendrick, Justin Timberlake, Rachel Bloom, and Ozzy Osbourne, and is directed by Walt Dohrn.

Trolls World Tour is currently scheduled to be released on April 17, 2020.
